Additional Checkpoint Information
The Colton Police Department announced that it will conduct a DUI checkpoint on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location. The department stated that checkpoint locations are selected based on data related to impaired-driving crashes and arrests, with the goal of improving road safety by identifying suspected impaired drivers. The department also reminded motorists that impairment can result from alcohol, prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, and marijuana. Driving under the influence of marijuana remains illegal, even where its medicinal or recreational use is permitted. The department further noted that a first-time DUI conviction can result in substantial financial penalties and license suspension.
